Tokyopop.de announced their new titles back in mid-July. I had hoped for other publishers to follow and disclose their new acquisitions and therefore postponed my post. Alas, none of them did. So below you’ll only find Tokyopop.de’s short list and don’t expect any surprises. Despite Dr. Joachim Kaps‘ hints for a more diverse range of licenses, the list still is very shoujo-heavy.
Seinen
Battle Royale by Koushun Takami & Masayuki Taguchi
Shounen
Death Note 13: How To Read by Tsugumi Ohba & Takeshi Obata
Josei
Mehyou to Chuujitsu na Geboku by Kasane Katsumoto
Yuuwaku no Bansan by Kasane Katsumoto
Shoujo
Ai ga Nakuchane! by Haruka Fukushima
Aozora Pop by Natsumi Oouchi
Kyousou Heaven by Kanan Minami
Global
Tränen eines Engels (Tears of an angel) by Olga Rogalski
Dramacon: Ultimate Edition by Svetlana Chmakova
Kulla und der Schneemann (Kulla and the snowman) by Anne Pätzke
Krähen (Crows) by Marie Sann & Guido Neukamm
Art books
One Day by Benjamin
Total:
Seinen: 1 | Shounen: 1 | Josei: 2| Shoujo: 3 | Shounen Ai: 0 | Shoujo Ai: 0 | Global: 4 | Art-books: 1
Tokyopop: 11
Compared to the list of new titles for fall and winter 2008/2009 and spring and summer 2008 this list is very short. Saturated market anyone?
Update: Hot Beast and Hot Dinner are both Josei titles.

“Hot Dinner by Kasane Katsumoto (demographic and Japanese name unkown)
Hot Beast by Kasane Katsumoto (demographic and Japanese name unkown)”
Knowing the mangaka and judging the description, probably both smutty Josei single volumes. She has published some Shoujo as well but usually realizes this kind of story in Renai MAX (Josei demographic; smut).

Yea, I also think it’s Josei, but I just put it under Shoujo as long as I’m not 100% sure :D

I dont know… but “Magical DoReMi” was licensed by Carlsen in Germany, so I doubt that Tokyopop.DE will license the manga.
Note: this licenses are for the German branch of Tokyopop.
